Moniek Driesse is currently based in Rotterdam, after working and living in Mexico City for several years. Practicing research-based design in arts and architecture, she considers place related narratives as the starting point for the development of creative processes embedded into the built and social environment of a given context. She divides her time amongst parallel collaborative and self-initiated projects, such as: Micrópolis. Un mapa de lo cotidiano (2013), the Subjective Atlas of Mexico (2011), Disarming Design from Palestine (2013). She collaborates with Milou van Ham on art in public space and is also one of the founder members of the Alterritorios collective.
